Our multi-step deck restoration process
is the proven way to protect your deck.
Step 1 – Prepare and Clean: Our process begins with the most important step – preparation of the wood. This step is critical to the restoration and involves a thorough cleaning of wood to prepare it for stain. If your deck has a pre-existing stain on it, we may be able to efficiently remove it, depending on the condition and type of the existing finish. Further, we ensure the proper pH and moisture level is achieved prior to moving on to the next step.
Step 2 – Stain and Protect: Next, we apply a protective stain to the wood. In most cases, we use a penetrating-type oil-based stain. Because it’s made from non-drying oils that are absorbed into the wood, this stain will never peel or chip. It provides great U.V. protection, water repellency, and mold/mildew resistance, all of which contribute to a significantly longer lasting, and much better looking deck.
Step 3 – Maintain and Preserve: When wear occurs, maintenance is as simple as a thorough washing of the surface, followed by a re-application of stain. This should be done every 1-2 years for best protection depending on the amount of weather and foot traffic the deck is subject to. In most cases, no scraping or sanding is required, meaning that it’s easy and affordable to keep your deck looking great for years to come! We even offer an annual maintenance service to keep your deck looking its best year after year.

I highly recommend Max and his team! They cleaned a roof that was covered with moss, cleaned the gutters, and stained the deck railings and tops. My favorite thing about Deck Teck: I did not need to be an expert myself. My deck and porch were sound but dingy after 20 years of weather and wear. Max and his team (Caleb, Leo, Jake, and Colby) were all so polite and hardworking. Max is respectful, prompt and good at communicating. I am quite the chatterbox and I always appreciate when someone doesn't mind my ten thousand questions and ideas. But more on the work - our deck was in rough shape and in need of repair/restoration when we bought our house. The Deck Teck team brought our sagging 15-year-old deck back to life. They fixed the rotten boards and the protruding nails, they washed it and sanded it down, then applied two-tone staining. It looks fantastic! We are so in love with our "new" deck and we spend a lot more time on it now. Three photos show the original gray deck, the deck "in progress" after it was washed/sanded and then the final product, a restored deck stained brown and white. I feel like we got a great value with all the team did and I am so glad we did this project early in the season so we have all summer to enjoy. If we ever need another deck I won't hesitate to call them again! Thank you Deck Teck!!

I’m so happy that I called Deck Teck to come and steam the ice off my roof. The ice was getting thicker by the day with all these frequent little storms and no warm weather to help with melting. I do try to keep up with roof-raking but missed doing it just one storm and before I knew it I had huge ice cycles hanging off the roof, pipes, etc. i was getting nervous about ice jambs and then I saw Deck Teck’s post regarding the steaming ice from roof and I knew that was exactly the service I needed, especially with more storms along the way. They came the next day and on time, we’re very friendly and most importantly, very efficient. They shoveled the whole roof and then steamed it and removed every morsel of ice . What a relief to know that I won’t have any problems with leaks. It’s so great to know that there is such a great company that provides this much needed service in our community. Gives me peace of mind that they helped me prevent major damage. Max and his wonderful crew did an amazing job. I wouldn’t hesitate to call them again. Max created plans and sent us several detailed visualizations and happily made a few modifications. His crew executed the job with precision and attention to detail. Worked with DECK TECK for a complete roof cleaning. Max provided a quick response to my inquiry, stopped by to assess the job and provided an estimate the same night (as promised). After 20 or so years, we have a newly restored deck that Max and the Deck Teck crew accomplished in very quick order. After a thorough washing Boards were replaced as needed, and any loose boards were tightened. After the staining the deck looks much, much better.
